It looks fresh, and has a great concept, but whether it will go viral and play a key role in professional networking is for time to tell. I'd recommend using it if you're ambitious about your career, along with LinkedIn, and continue to keep them updated. You never know who you'll be able to connect with there, and how it will help you until you use it. The nice thing is they are already using Facebook Connect, which means you can probably set up your profile, and keep fresh content on their through syndication from your primary social networks - similar to the way LinkedIn syndicates your Twitter stream. I like it - go with it and keep me posted!

Re: Social Media Plan #2 – Platform

MailChimp is another good one. I have used Constant Contact but it sort of feels kinda of clunky compared to MailChimp. Plus their mascot is a monkey! Who wouldn't trust a monkey delivering their mail?

Have you heard of Brazen Careerist as a primary (or maybe it would fall under secondary/tertiary) social media profile? I have heard from a few people that they predict it to to grow in upcoming years. I'm not so sure, but I would like to hear what you think about it.
